It's late and it's hard for me to properly blog what went on for my New Year's weekend. I can't recall the exact dates, but I met someone wonderful and I spent my NYE with her.
But first, because I want to go in chronological order, let's start with... the Reggae Club! Hell, I can't remember the name of the place. All I know is that They had an even going on for NYE. This mostly pertained to other countries in far off timezones. I believe I may have still had a day before mine was coming along.
I had so much fun here, even without a dance partner. I've never danced to reggae before and it was just one of the most enjoyable things I've done in SL all alone. Not once did I feel like I needed someone to dance with. It's liberating, really. And I look so damned cute. Hell yes.
I hope everyone has a great Christmas! We all should be off SL and celebrating with our families, but here I am. However, I won't be on the rest of the season because I'm busy. See you guys next year!!!
Last night, I was at Laguna Beach again, when... Lo and behold... Ahoy, kids! I walked right into... Captain Jack Sparrow.
He was walking around in a drunken stupor, taking swigs from the bottle hung from his belt when I walked up to him.
"Capt. Sparrow?" I asked. I'm pretty sure he replied to me with an "Ahoy!" or some sort. I talked to him for a bit... just enough to ask him if he was drunk again and to tell him what a sexy bitch he was. LOL. And he is - even drunk and glassy-eyed.
We were going our separate ways when I turned around and saw this scene. Yes, kids... the legendary pirate has now passed out in front of the ocean, ready for the tide to take him away. I stood there for a few moments, laughing silently in my mind. "Taking pictures?" he asked.
"Well, I was just laughing... I mean, Capt. Jack Sparrow is passed out on the beach! But, now that you mention it, I will." And this shot was born. I wish I had gotten a better shot, but SL crashed right then. When I came back, the love of my life was gone. Boo.
Gotta love a girl who falls for lazy, ingenious drunks that doesn't know the benefits of good hygeine, eh?
Next, I was invited to The HotSpot by a friend, IndigoRain. She is new there as one of the dancers and I told her I would be there to support her when she goes onstage. I missed her first days, but I finally made it! Here we are with her onstage. I gotta admit, I'd thought of dancing before... Okay, let's not be so babyish about it. I've thought about STRIPPING before, but never really followed through on any of the ads I saw. It just wasn't my thing. As I watched her dance in her cute little outfit, it just seemed so much fun that I had to try. They weren't really hiring anymore dancers in her club, but I ended up landing a gig at a Bettie Page inspire club at Extasia. I haven't started yet. Technically, it's L$150 to get our tops off and L$300 to get everything off, but who knows if I'll even get that far? Goodness knows I don't need the money. I can afford the things I want in SL just fine. It's all about the experience. I don't think stripping is so bad if you're not victimized by it. I'm no exhibitionist, but I am adventurous by nature. Let's see if I get along with this gig or not. I'm on Fridays and Saturdays after 7pm. And don't expect me to baby talk you.
After that, I went to Skinny Dip. I'm not exactly sure where it is and, as you can see, I know nothing about how to work/create/use a SLurl. So, look it up, damn you. It's just another nude beach, like Laguna Beach, but with a dance floor and other sections. Here, I've taken pictures while sunbathing on the beach front chairs, at the campfire, and the cabana.
There I am, swimming with the fishies. Also, I took some time to meditate in front the of the giant clamshell. Eventually, I just sat inside the damn thing. Look at me, playing Birth of Venus. So what, if it's a different pose? The bubbles look cool, dammit.
I'm just Queen of the Ocean, aren't I?
I don't do too many new things around SL. I wish I could be more like the others that are involved in pageants, having their own businesses, and meeting more people, but it's not that easy. In the meantime, I made do with my favorite places and tried to be more actively social... or so I said in my head.
I can't even truly recall the order that things happened. I believe I first went back to the beach - Laguna Beach, that is. When I got there, it was evening and I had never seen the place at night. It was so beautiful, I took a load of pictures. Do you see the fireflies? And the moon? Of course, there was no way I could resist floating idly in the water. As if I would stay in the sand when there's a scene like this out on the ocean.
Although the place it always crowded, it was a peaceful, calm, night. Don't you just get that feeling from these pictures. I wish I could do it daily.
When I got there, the place was packed. It eventually turned out to be one of the popular places listed. There were dance pads that paid you while you danced, so I went on one of them. I figured... I was gonna dance, anyway. If they're offering money for it, then why not?!
I've gotten a lot of compliments on this outfit at the club. This set did not come together, but they ARE all freebies. Yes, I'm a cheap shopper, but ... once again, why not? Right? I most likely got these items from NCI, Free Dove, or the GNUbie store. Great shops and the freebies are more than generous. Once I learn to design, I plan on donating some freebies to those places. You give and you receive. Sometimes, it doesn't happen in that order. In any case, I earned about L$20 total. Not bad for doing something I was gonna do for free, regardless.
I was going to go to the jazz bar and attempt to meet some decent folk - since some guy was offering to have me get him off like that would've been the best Christmas present ever ... at Arsheba. Instead, I went back to Laguna Beach. I just can't get enough of the ocean. It was daytime by then, so I thought I'd sunbathe a little, to keep that island girl skintone. =) Well, look behind me in this picture. Looks like they found a way to get a tan and some exercise. Rrrrawr!
That led to the demise of the beach. =) Nah, I'm just kidding. I didn't mind them there at all. It was the guy that was talking to me that ruined it all. He kept talking to me about how he's in a beautiful ocean in his own yacht, He said he lives on the yacht in RL and owns one on SL, as well. Then he started talking about living on an island off the coast of California and constantly saying "duh" like he was 13. Eventually, I had to give him the brush off. I'm a nice girl, but I can only tolerate so fucking much.
So, off to the jazz bar it was.
And, it was a lonely night. I think I'm a darling looking little gal. So, I don't have the stripper boobs, the height, or the massive amounts of makeup... but I think I'm a cutie. However, I was all alone that night with no prospective dance partner in sight. I explored Blue Note and found some cool little corners to ponder my loneliness with. In the end, I went to the piano to belt out my blues.
Maybe I'll find a darling cutie one day who can be my girl. We'd go dancing every night and finish the outing off at the beach, floating underneath the stars.
Even then, I've got quite a lot to post. Actually, it wouldn't seem like a lot except that I totally whored out on pictures. I don't even know where to start. The nights were pretty slow because I didn't have a dance partner. I haven't seen the Levi guy sign on when I could go dancing. The other times, I went out shopping. :)
First of all, last night was really quiet. I went to Phat Cat's where I am usually guaranteed a good time, but it seemed like everyone there was in jeans and a t-shirt. I'm not sure if they were having a casual night, but I wanted more than that, which is why I went there specifically. So, I searched for other jazz bars but none were happening that night. The plus side is that I found this one jazz club that had a cool wintery gazebo where I took pictures at.
After this, I gave up and went to Laguna Beach. It's a nude beach, but it's mostly the guys that are naked. Most women I see are wearing bikinis, although some do go nude. It's a pretty cool place to meet people. I found it the same night I took these pictures because I had given up of jazz clubs for the night. I met some nice guys and some wierdos, but here are the pictures of that night.
When I arrived a guy started speaking to me. I think I'd spoken to him before because he seemed to recognize me. Also, I recognized his name, but I just couldn't place it. You can't trust faces here in SL. I could change into a man with a click, so I didn't bother looking too closely at his face. I asked him to dance and I took a few pictures of it. We also tried out the skating rink in the back. It had a snowman you can hug, so... I had to!
After that, he took me to a place called Rose Gardens. He said that it was the most romantic place he'd ever seen in SL and I'd have to agree. I don't know what it looks like when it's not winter, but it's beautiful when it's snowing. There were some Holiday setups, so I took some pictures with those. I ran off and explored some by myself. I tend to get lost in the moment, but at least he didn't take it as an insult. I wanted my holiday pictures and I was gonna get 'em.
Then, he took me to the Rose Gardens dance club. At first I got lost and went to another dance floor, but he sent me a teleport. They played mostly rock, but it was still enjoyable. The dances were cool. Now, if I only knew how to take a video of me dancing because I was great. :) I also changed clothes. I was super dressy for the romantic atmosphere of Blue Note and Rose Gardens, but the club called for club gear. I changed my clothes up a little by changing my skirt.
Well, that was the first two days of my long weekend before it's back to work. I don't know what I'll do tomorrow, but I had fun today, despite the lag and the unfortunate problems with the new update.
'Til next time!
I had a lot of fun out last night. I was up late and decided to go out clubbing. I hadn't really gone clubbing in SL before and I wanted to see if there was any fun to it. There always seemed to be a lot of ads in the classifieds from clubs hiring events coordinators, hostesses, dancers, whatever. I figured, they must be making some kind of money and pulling in a good amount of customers to be hiring. So, there it was.
I checked out the events pages and hit up two clubs. One had a holiday theme. When you went in, they gave you a candy cane, so everyone was dancing with a candy cane in their mouth. It looked like fun, but the dance floor just wasn't working for me. Disappointed, I was just going to return to Amsterdam and hang out, but while thinking about it, I saw an event ad for a Jazz club happening at that very moment. So, I thought... I love jazz. Why not?
When I got there, I fell in love with the music right off. I roamed the dance floor looking for a dance I might be able to do myself, but all the options were for partnered dances. Oh well. So, I danced, anyway. By a fluke, a guy next to me chose the same dance, so we got partnered up together. It was pretty cool. I never knew I could slow dance.
We danced a lot of dances. We danced for a few hours and tried out all the dances on the floor. There was even a boat section way in the back that you could slow dance in. We tried that, too, while watching the sunset. It was the raddest thing because it looked like a scene straight out of Titanic. I didn't get to take a picture, though. I was too busy just enjoying the scenery.
It was a really great dive. I just wish the floor was a different color. It looks kinda like white trash spandex in that color. Maybe if it was blue or gold, it would match better. It was a really classy place. See my ball gown? Coolness.
It wasn't packed, but there was just enough people to make it enjoyable. I loved that people dressed up for the occasion. It was like prom. At one point, it was really dark and the setting just reminded me of the ballroom from Beauty and The Beast.
I probably won't be going to the hip-hop/pop clubs after this. I really enjoyed dancing and being all made up. It's like what prom should've been. LOL.
Hi Everyone,
This is my first post, so I thought I'd introduce myself. I am a player in a virtual reality world called Second Life. I am a new resident there, less than a month old. I was skeptical about the game itself because it lacked purpose and I was used to playing other MMORPG's like World of Warcraft, but I've found it to be very satisfying in terms of what a game is supposed to do for a person.
Let me clarify that I am just a player - a resident - of Second Life and I do not work for the company that owns it, Linden Labs. So, I can only give as much information as I can figure out. I am not a representative so I don't know anything and really wouldn't be able to give anyone any tutorials right now.
At the moment, I've totally obsessed with travelling all over SL's environments. I've been to Paris, Japan, and Hawaii, for example. Today, I was able to visit Amsterdam. I'll be taking pictures along the way, so come and join the fun!
I realize that not everyone who sees this may have an account, and you'll need an account to comment on this blog. So, if you're a player, just do a search for my name and send me an IM if you have anything to say. I'm just doing this for fun, so it's not a big deal, but I didn't want to mix it up in my RL blog.
They ARE two different lives, right? *wink*
Note: I will not be answering any questions regarding RL in this blog. This is strictly an SL blog and, if it could be said that I'm going to stay in character. More or less, a role playing blog. My real blog is elsewhere here on Vox, but unless you know me, you don't have access.
Always,
Seohee
